Injury Update: Good News For Vidic

Nemanja Vidic resumes full training on Monday after recovering from a broken collarbone but Louis Saha needs to be sure before he starts playing again.

Good news arrived from the treatment room: Nemanja Vidic's recovery is going better than expected.

'Vidic is coming along very, very well and he starts training on Monday,' said Sir Alex at his pre-Middlesbrough press conference.

'He's been doing some physical work in the gym but on Monday he'll start some serious work and hopefully that brings him to possibly being available for the latter games.

'We've got Rio Ferdinand, John O'Shea and Patrice Evra fit for tomorrow which gives us a far healthier look.

'Gary Neville is progressing quite well, there's a chance he'll be ready for Everton.

'We'll make a decision on Ji-sung Park next week. We've seen the specialist and hopefully we can get an opinion on what the next stage should be.'

To be honest, Gary's injury is worrying me. He was believed to be back for the Sheffield game; then he was earmarked for the Boro match. Later, Sir Alex admitted his skipper had only a slight chance for Boro but a very good chance for Milan. Now he's optimistic Gary will be fit for Everton... if this goes on, Nev will miss the start of next season, too.

As for Louis Saha, the boss played down fears that the striker might not feature again, claiming he only has to feel totally sure that he can return.

'We feel he's back, it's just the confidence to make sure he feels right,' Fergie suggested. 'Louis in his own mind has got to feel 100 percent fit.

'He just felt his hamstring a bit after the game against Roma over there when he came on as a substitute. In training the next day he felt it a little bit. I think there's a cautious approach, that he wants to feel 100 percent fit.'
