Ferdinand Injury Boost

Rio Ferdinand limped off the pitch during the 7-1 win over Roma with a groin injury and there fears that he might have seriously aggravated it in our FA Cup semi-final clash with Watford. He was substituted there, with Fletcher switched to right-back.

However, today's scan showed that his injury is indeed minor, just as we were hoping for and he even has a chance of playing against Sheffield United tomorrow. I think he'll be rested - to be honest, I can't see our defence being the priority against the Blades at Old Trafford...

Craig Cathcart was absent today as United beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield in the first leg of the final of the Youth Cup (cheers and congratulations!) and the 18-year-old defender could be handed his first team debut tomorrow. What better occasion than this game?
