Scholes The Key For United

Scholes The Key For United

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson feels Paul Scholes will profit from the rest he's been granted by his suspension and will prove vital in the latter part of our season.

Ginger Ninja is enjoying one of his finest seasons and his performances in the heart of our midfield had been deservedly acclaimed. He was sent off against Liverpool and got a three-game ban but he will return to the team against Rovers firing on all cylinders, according to Fergie.

The manager also explained why Scholesy opted to retire from international football - it does have significance in a time when many believe radical changes are necessary to transform the shambles that is the current England team and some believe Scholes should be called back.

'Paul regards family life as very important,' Sir Alex told Sky Sports.

'He knows what the travelling with the international team is like and, coming to his age, I think he felt it was time to give more time to his family. That is the reason he gave up international football.

'His form this season has been absolutely fantastic and now we are getting him back fresh after a little break.'
