'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Carrick Excited By Treble Prospect

United midfielder Michael Carrick finds it exciting that we are still have a chance to win the Treble this season.

United are six points clear at the top with eight games to go in the league, prepare for a quarter-final replay in the FA Cup and face Roma in the last 8 of the Champions League. Talk about repeating the Treble of 1999 has unavoidably surfaced but it won't disturb the players' heads, according to Carrick.

It is not daunting at all,' said the former Spurs midfielder.

'It is exciting really. When you are winning games, you cannot wait for the next one to come around.

'In fairness, the next one is coming a lot quicker than most but we will be ready.

'The more trophies you have a chance of winning the better.

'At the moment, it is looking good but this is the time when things are won and lost, so we will have to be at our best over the next few months.'

I'm daunted by this treble talk: what if we're brought down to earth against Roma? what effect would that have on our league campaign? With all the injuries we have, there is a serious chance of blowing away everything.

i think if we were to loose against romawe would recover in the league.
