Ronaldo Talks Confirmed

United are ready to tie down Ronaldo for a long-term contract whereas the player aims to be a legend.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that negotiations are going on with the Portuguese winger who is keen to stay at Old Trafford despite interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"We`ve been negotiating for a few weeks now," said Fergie.

"These things usually go back and forth but eventually there`ll be a compromise. That`s where we want to get to."

Old Trafford folklore is where Ronaldo wants to get to, according to the man himself.

"One day I will end up in Spain, but I am very happy here," Ronaldo told Icons.com.

"I want to make my mark in Manchester. I want to win titles and enter the folklore of the club."

He also confirmed that talks about a new contract were underway. His current deal expires in 2010.

"We are negotiating and everything is in place to keep me here. I believe things are going well and I am going to remain here."

He'll end up in Spain one day he said. Well, that's not a big surprise and I must say it's fair from him to confirm this. But it looks like he'll be with us for some years ahead and that's a big boost for the future.
