United Draw Roma

Manchester United will play AS Roma in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. If the Reds reach the last four they will play the winner of the Milan v Bayern Munich clash.

With 7 of last season's quarter-finalists out there were a number of 'new' faces at Nyon, UEFA headquarters.

I had the feeling (it's true, believe me) today that we would get Roma and when I saw their name come out I was almost sure they would have to play us. The first leg will be played in Rome, on 3rd or 4th of April, the exact date is yet to announced. The 2nd leg will be held on April 10/11.

United will play the winner of the Milan v Bayern clash in the semi-finals if they reach that. The first leg would be played at Old Trafford in this case.

Well, I'm happy we avoided Chelsea but I would have wanted PSV. If we can get a draw in the Stadio Olimpico, we'll be through.

The full pairings:

AC Milan v Bayern Munich
PSV Eindhoven v Liverpool
AS Roma v Manchester United
Chelsea v Valencia

Semi-finals:

Chelsea/Valencia v PSV/Liverpool
AS Roma/Manchester United-AC Milan v Bayern Munich
