'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United Sign Brazilian De Boers

Sir Alex Ferguson has already started strengthening the squad for next season. Reports suggest the club have reached an agreement with Fluminense over signing the Brazilian club's two highly promising players, Rafael and Fabio da Silva.

The youngsters claim they had a trial at Old Trafford and it is believes they impressed enough to be offered a deal at the Reds.

'When we were negotiating, Cristiano Ronaldo phoned us saying that Manchester United was a tremendous club and it was a wonderful place to play football,' Rafael, the right-back said.

Left-back Fabio added: 'We were there to be familiar with the club and we played part of a friendly match. We were on the same pitch as Rooney and Ronaldo. They were very kind with us.'

So, the Bale deal is dead now, isn't it?
