We Won't Sit Back And Watch

Gary Neville has rejected claims Manchester United should let others 'have a turn at winning honours'.

Neville: 'I don't go along with the theory success goes in cycles and it is our turn to sit back and watch other people win leagues. I don't go along with the theory Manchester United fans and players have been spoilt and it is about time they suffered. That is rubbish.

'To raise the bar to the level Chelsea have is incredible. To win 18 matches and have one draw in 20 Premiership games is a staggering, staggering performance and you have to hold your hands up.

'Even when we were winning titles year after year we weren't putting together figures like that. But that is not to say we cannot do it.

'It is not good enough to simply say they have raised the bar and we must accept that. We have to do something about it.

'We haven't raised ourselves to a significant level to overtake Chelsea but if anyone is going to challenge them, this year or in the future, then I see it being us. We are not far away and in Wayne Rooney we have a fantastic player who can take us where we want to be.'
