United Getting Their Priorities Right

United Getting Their Priorities Right

Although Jose Mourinho has been given full backing in the transfer market to bring a plethora of expensive talent to Old Trafford, Manchester United are still hanging on to the shirt-tails of the near-neighbours Manchester City.

The Pep Guardiola led revolution at the Etihad Stadium, has seen the blue half of Manchester dominate the Premier League this season and we`re under no illusions that the Premier League trophy will be joining the League Cup in the trophy room at the Etihad.

Jose Mourinho, now in his second season in charge of Manchester United, knows that next season he has to close the gap on our neighbours, he knows his squad has to keep the gap, in points, between the two sides to a more respectable level.

Mourinho knows that he`ll need to be active in the transfer market this summer and that, despite spending a fortune since taking over from Louis van Gaal, the cheque-book will have to come out again.

To that effect, it`s pleasing to read in the news source, the Daily Mail, that a decision has been taken by the Manchester United hierarchy whereby plans have been ditched to expand Old Trafford this summer with the money put-aside instead being used to concentrate backing Mourinho in the transfer market.

Hopefully, the money will be spent wisely and this time next season, the title race will be something that goes to the wire with Manchester United in with a serious chance of bringing the famous trophy back to Old Trafford.
