It`s Huddersfield for United in the FA Cup 5th Round
When the draw was made for the 5th round of the FA Cup, Manchester United were given one of those fixtures where you`re left hanging around waiting for who your opposition will be, one of the dread 'or` ties.
After beating Yeovil (a), the draw paired Manchester United with the winners of the 4th round replay between Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town.
The replay took place last night and with the score locked at 1-1, went to extra-time.
During the thirty-minute extra-time period it was the Premier League outfit, Huddersfield Town, who took control with The Terriers scoring three goals to wrap the tie up at 4-1.
Therefore, on the weekend when the fifth round ties are played, Manchester United will be welcoming Huddersfield Town to Old Trafford, in a repeat of the recent Premier League game where Manchester United finally broke the Yorkshire sides` resistance with two second half goals.
With Huddersfield having dropped into the relegation zone, after a promising start to the 2017 / 2018 season, we wouldn`t be too surprised if the Huddersfield manager, David Wagner, rested some of his key players to concentrate on their quest to retain their Premier League status.
If so, Manchester United, in our opinion, should ease into the FA Cup quarter-finals, with a trip to Wembley a step nearer.
