Darmian Going Nowhere this January Claim

Darmian Going Nowhere this January Claim

A couple of months ago, I`d have confidently predicted that come the opening of the January transfer window Matteo Darmian would be exiting Old Trafford.

After all, the Italian defender was only appearing in the first-team on a sporadic basis.

Furthermore, with it being World Cup year, with Russia staging the tournament, there were fears aired that Matteo could lose his place in the squad.

But things can change so quickly in this game of ours.

Italy didn`t qualify for the summer tournament, eliminated in the play-offs by Sweden.

Today, the local media source, the Manchester Evening News, carries an interesting article.

In the article, Darmian`s agent reports that several Italian clubs have made enquiries about taking the 28-year-old back to Italy, but he also confirms that the defender is not for sale.

Now whether the scenario will change in the summer remains to be seen.

Your thoughts on the above subject matter would be most appreciated in our comments facility beneath this article.
