Everton 0 Manchester United 2
Manchester United, after three consecutive draws during the festive period, got back to winning ways against Everton, at GoodIson Park.
After a first-half whereby neither side troubled the scorers, it was to be Manchester United who were to take the lead.
With fifty-seven minutes on the clock, Anthony Martial, given a start with both Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic absent, took full advantage of the former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney losing possession, to curl a great shot past Pickford, from twenty-yards out, to put Manchester United in control.
Having taken the lead, Manchester United were in command with Everton rarely threatening to equalise. The closest Everton came to even troubling David de Gea in the Manchester United goal was when a header from Oumar Niasse drifted wide.
The victory was wrapped up in the eighty-first minute when Jesse Lingard continued his fine form with a great shot from outside the penalty area.
The win lifted Manchester United back above Chelsea and back into second spot in the Premier League table.
