Vidic Happy With Defense

United defenders weren't pleased with their form in the last 6 weeks as the Reds failed to keep a clean sheet since the game against Aston Villa until the clash with Watford. But now it's three in a row - no wonder Vidic is delighted.

Rio Ferdinand asked for more stability at the back recently and whilst avoid conceding at home against Charlton and Watford is not a miracle, keeping a clean sheet at Spurs is a feat to be applauded. Nemanja Vidic is happy with the team's defensive record but reckons we should have played better against Charlton. Of course, you do not need to be an Einstein to realize that...

'We thought before the (Charlton) game that we might score more goals,' Vidic told MUTV. 'But it wasn't easy. We have to be pleased, though, because it is another three points.

'We won the game, scored two goals and didn't concede. We have to be happy with that. It's important that we don't concede goals.'

'In the first 30 minutes we made too many mistakes. But after Ji's goal we played a lot better. We had a lot of chances and we could have done better with some of them.

'We have two difficult away games now (against Fulham and Liverpool), they are very important matches for us.'
