FC Basel 1 Man Utd 0 - Post-Match Fascinating Facts

Last night in Basel didn`t quite go as expected.

The game against FC Basel was supposed to see Manchester United qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League but a goal in the 89th minute means we`re having to wait until the last group game to make sure we are in the last sixteen.

Following the disappointing defeat though, we 've managed to cobble together a few interesting facts and figures relating to last night.

• Coming on as a substitute, during the second half, Zlatan Ibrahimovic set a record. The Swede became the first player to play for 7 different clubs in the Champions League, the 7 being - Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

• Basel have a remarkable home record against English clubs, in 14 meetings no English side has managed to keep a clean sheet.

• Basel, after being out-played in the first half and managing just a single shot, turned things around in the second-half to have 12.

• After keeping clean-sheets on a regular basis, Manchester United have now conceded goals in their last 3 games in all competitions.
