United Bid Rejected by Villa
Lurking in the transfer gossip pages of a red-top publication yesterday was the inference that Manchester United have had a bid turned down for a promising young striker.
According to the good folk of The Sun on Sunday, Manchester United have picked up on the promise shown by the young Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis.
Davis, just 19-years-of-age, is tipped to become the next Dwight Yorke after establishing himself as a regular at Villa Park.
In 10 appearances Davis has already got on the score-sheet on 2 occasions.
What makes his emergence even more surprising is that Davis was rejected by Stevenage and turned to non-league football, with the Southern League side, Biggleswade.
Villa signed him from the Bedfordshire non-league club for a fee of £5,000 plus the receipts of a Villa U23 fixture.
Trying to secure the youngsters services, our quoted source is of the opinion that Manchester United, in trying to beat off competition from Arsenal and Everton, bid £5 million, but the bid was rejected.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United try to entice Villa to sell with a higher bid or not.
We`ll sit back, wait and see and then report back further if the need arises.
