Former United Player Heading Back to Where It All Started
Back in the year 2012, Manchester United pulled off something of a coup.
With the Dutch international, Robin van Persie refusing to sign a new deal with the North London club, Arsenal, Manchester United swooped and signed the striker.
The fee for the player was set at £22.5 million plus an additional £1.5 million would be paid to Arsenal if Manchester United, with van Persie in the side, went on to win either the Premier League or Champions League in the four-year term of his initial contract.
Van Persie was a hit at Old Trafford and his goal-scoring exploits ensured that the club did have to write that additional cheque for £1.5 million, as Manchester United continued to gather silverware.
The Dutchman stayed at Old Trafford until 2015 before being sold on.
Currently, Van Persie is playing for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super League.
However, according to the Turkish media source, Aksam, this will be van Persie`s last season at the club with the player, who is now 34-years-of-age, indicating that he will return to Holland to play for the Dutch club, Feyenoord, the place where it began for Robin.
The perfect end to what has been a brilliant career!
