Basel`s Danger-Man Is?

Basel`s Danger-Man Is?

Tonight, Manchester United welcome FC Basel to Old Trafford for a Champions League fixture.

Basel are regular competitors in the Champions League although they usually fall by the wayside at the group stages.

But who should United consider to be their danger-man tonight?

The statistics point towards their striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Those who follow football with a passion may well recognise the name as van Wolfswinkel has played in English football.

The striker was on the books of Norwich City after the Norfolk club paid £8.5 million for his services.

But, can Wolfswinkel`s time with Norwich didn`t show his potential with the striker scoring just 2 goals in 28 appearances for the Canaries.

However, it has been a different story for the striker in Siwss football where he has already scored 7 goals in 7 appearances.

Talking about his asset, the Basel head-coach, Raphael Wicky, is quoted as having remarked,

'I only want to judge him from the time he has been in Switzerland and he has been fantastic for us.

'He is looking fantastic on the field - he is a real striker in the box, he knows where the goal is - but he is also fantastic to have in the team as a personality.

'I believe that he can score and I hope that he will score goals in the Champions League for us as well.'

A striker for Smalling and Lindelof to look out for.
