Manchester United remain on top of the Premier League but lost their 100% winning record after a thrilling 2-2 draw away to Stoke City.

With the Champions` League group stages starting in midweek, Jose Mourinho shuffled his starting eleven with Darmian and Herrera starting.

After some close exchanges, the first goal of the came in the 43rd minute when Eric Maxim Choup-Moting finished a fine move with a powerful finish. The goal was the first Manchester United had conceded in 535 minutes of football.

Despite conceding so close to half-time, Manchester United went into the break level when a header from Paul Pogba ended up in the back of the net after hitting Marcus Rashford on the back of the head.

In the fifty-seventh minute Manchester United were ahead when Romelu Lukaku scored, however, Stoke showed their resilience by grabbing an equaliser just six minutes later when, once again, Choupo-Moting was on hand to score, this time with a back-post header.

Searching for a winner, Lukaku had a glorious chance to grab three points for Manchester United but the Belgian striker fired a cross from Antonio Valencia over the bar from just eight yards out.

Another chance fell Manchester United`s way in stoppage time but the Stoke City keeper, Jack Butland, somehow managed to keep the ball out after it had hit his own defender, Kurt Zouma, to head towards the net.
