Time To Stumble At The Lane
United are to face Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow at the White Hart Lane in a game that might be crucial. Winning it maybe beyond us.
Spurs are not in blistering form, that's true. They sometimes looked very ordinary this season but their squad is still very strong, their attacking play is imaginative. Of course we could still win at them, regardless of all these attributes.
What led me to saying we won't win is that we collected maximum points at the Lane on the last 5 occasions and now it's really time for us to drop points here. Arsenal were desperate for some league success against us before this season and they finally got it. Now it could be Spurs' turn to finally get something against us.
And of course we have to add the Quieroz-effect. Rumours say he's responsible for the constant experimenting with the vastly uneffective 4-5-1. No matter how many times we failed with it, the bosses try it again. Last time it was Arsenal who punished it and due to the fashion of that defeat, I think Fergie won't accept he got the tactics wrong. With another formidable team waiting for us, the boss could easily opt for this cautious style, thus reducing the effectiveness of both Rooney and Giggs.
I hope I'll be exposed as a hopeless pessimist but if I see Rooney on the left wing I'll consider closing my eyes and judging the events by the sounds around me.
Match prediction: another away loss, 2-1.

as a spurs supporter i hope ur prediction is sport on bt i cant see it happening although i expect a good entertaining game.

nah mate it could go either way. all depends on ronaldo and lennon. both are top class game changing players and if both are on song, it's gona be a great game for the neutrals! ... not for us yiddos tho :(

Lets hope Quieroz sleeps it out and misses the game altogether, if i see us trying out that 4 5 1 again i'll hunt him down and make him watch rerun after rerun of biker grove

Spurs never get anything against Man Utd, not even that infamous goal that was obvious to everyone and anyone from every and any angle, except the officials. Also Jol liked a bit of 4-5-1 himself against Arsenal's available first team (of which the only non-regulars were Traore and Diaby and the only ones missing were Lehmann and Henry)

Lennon's pace will outdo united. Even though we may not be on form I still think we can win and we have already beated one of the top sides in Chelski and we can do the same to United.

After the debacle against Arse, I don't hold much hope for us against Man Yoo. I've been the most overly confident fan this season, but I'venow conceded a high placing in the league and any kind of run in the FA Cup. I'll be going to the Lane tomorrow to support the boys and our "all-out defence while hitting them on the break" strategy, but I won't be expecting too much from the game. For someone like me to say that, it shows a lot!

i hope you are right and we win 2-1 and hoping that the boys put on a show after the loss to the arse and make life difficult for you guys but a win maybe not i think a draw is in order 1-1 and i would be happy.

how can you say lennons pace will outdo man utd? Have you seen evra? if i was you i would be worried about ronaldo destroying assou ekoto or lee down your left side

Lennon's pace will frighten the hell out of united. Evra! Ronaldo one of the best players you lot have got but in my opinion we can still win. Carrick maybe gone but we have got Hudd.

Much as I hope for an upset and despite your pessimism, I feel in my guts that you will win. Why? It's that manager of ours and the things he's saying before an important match such as this - we really miss Carrick, Lennon's not in the same class as Ronaldo, etc. He just has a way of instilling inspiration and encouraging his team before a big game, doesn't he? We've lost every time he does that.

He's just trying to take the pressure off the like's of the Hudd and Lennon! Anyway he's being realistic after all, Ronaldo's been around for atleast 3 years, Lennon's been around for 1! Hudd has only just come into the Prem for us this season whereas Carrick was our main midfield man for nearly 2 years and we do miss him! We need to keep these young guys feet on the ground, lets not do what the British media do, big them up then cut them down! I would love us to win, but would expect Utd to do us today as they are the best team in the land at the moment and we are below par and off form! Saying that maybe some of the boys will play their arses off cos home games dont come any bigger than this and they only come around a few times a year! Draw would be a decent result and something to build on, more important games down the line, games I would expect us to win, in saying all this hope we make a game of it today and go for the win, cannot sit back against the big teams otherwise you'll only ever lose!

I think manusa will beat us. Hte to sy it but just being realistic - i think the best we can hope for is a draw... i obviously hope i am wrong..

I hope your right Zae but even last season when we were by far the better team on the day you still beat us 0-2. I was watching the match in Sydney at some ungodly and couldn't believe how we cut you to bits in the 1st 20 mins but as usual we couldn't make our dominance pay - then Rooney scored twice (one after a Lee ***** up) and showed our strikers how to finish. Can't see anything changing this year as we are a poorer team and you seem to be improving and back to championship winning ways
