FIFA Loves Liverpool

FIFA Loves Liverpool

Favouritism? FIFA bent their own rules to allow West Ham misfit Javier Mascherano to play for Liverpool.

The association's rules clearly state that a player cannot play for more than two clubs in the same season. Since July, the Argentinian midfielder has played for Corinthians, West Ham and he's now set to play for the Scousers as he got FIFA's licence to do so.

The strange thing is that Milan's Ricardo Oliveira would have been sent to Real on loan but the very same rules which were bent for Liverpool and Mascherano killed this move . Oliveira played for Sao Paulo and Milan and thus he wasn't allowed to join Real Madrid.

Sir Alex Ferguson did not wish to attack Liverpool or the FIFA for it but voiced his concerns.

'They got Mascherano and I don't know how they managed that. They got him on a sort of loan basis and I don't know how it's happened.

'The only thing I can think is that because Brazil's season is different from ours, it is because of that, which is strange.'

Strange, really. That's the best word. I wouldn't have written this article if FIFA had allowed Oliveira to join Real. But they rejected his request and that's strange.

UEFA let us into the CL as well when the rules said we definitely shouldnt! Curse our favouritsm, I wish everyone treated us the same as everyone else like they do with Manchester United :(......That was sarcasm by the way, and Mascherano hasnt been cleared to play yet anyway.

Glad it's not just us who think they have a 'weird' favouritism.Mascherano was so good that he barely played. And Corinthians was at the bottom of the league. After Mascherano and Tevez went out, corinthians picked themselves up, and fought their way out of relegation zone. When they arrived at west ham, ham was doing fine. Now West ham is in a dangerous position.Hmmm, wouldn't you guys want tevez as well?

There are factors you didn't mention. Mascherano was never actually owned by West ham but by some MIS company. He also wasn't playing at West ham because the club has to pay for every appearence he makes and he'd have probably played more games otherwise. Just because Ferguson says something doesn't mean all you mancs have to act like sheep and start whining and whinging with him.

It's hard having an impact when you're not being played. He would have played more games if Westham didn't have to pay for every appearence he made. I'm pretty sure it was only 7 months ago when he was wanted by all the top european teams and Utd fans wanted him quite alot.
