Swansea v United - Fascinating Facts

Swansea v United - Fascinating Facts

One game won, thirty-seven more to navigate as Manchester United seek to mount a serious title challenge this season.

Following the 4-0 win over West Ham United, last weekend, Manchester United take on Swansea City, at the Liberty Stadium, this Saturday lunch-time.

Ahead of the fixture we`ve taken the opportunity to delve into the record and form books to bring you a plethora of interesting facts and figures:

1 - If Manchester United can beat Swansea, it will be the first time they`ve earned back-to-back-victories in this fixture.

2 - The last time Swansea City kept a clean-sheet in a fixture with Manchester United was back in December 1982, some 14 games ago.

3 - Swansea have a decent home record against Manchester United, the last 14 games have seen Manchester United win 3, lose 8 and draw 3.

4 - Jose Mourinho has a good record when it comes to matches against Swansea City, in 7 fixtures he`s won 5, drawn <2>2 and lost 0. Mourinho has also won on all 3 visits to South Wales to take on Swansea.

5 - Manchester United`s away form dropped off at the end of last season, only 2 points and 1 goal were accumulated from the last 4 fixtures. A win against Swansea will be their first in 5 away games.

6 - Romelu Lukaku will be looking for a change in fortune against Swansea, our summer signing has failed to score in his last 6 games, in all competitions, against the Welsh side.

7 - So far, in 2017, Manchester United have kept 12 clean sheets, nobody else in the Premier League can match that.

8 - Since Paul Clement took over at Swansea, the Welsh club have won 9 of the 20 matches he`s presided over. The 30 points gained during that period is the 8th best in the Premier League.

9 - Swansea City are on a 6 match unbeaten run in the Premier League, winning 4 and drawing 2.

10 - Swansea, at home, are on a roll, winning their last 3 home fixtures and have only been beaten on 1 occasion in their last 8 home Premier League games.

Wow,had forgotten the stats that have seen Swansea win 8 draw 3 and only loose 3 times in the last 24 matches against each other, that is a hugely impressive record. If this club is to challenge this season it's games like this where three points are a must.To drop points so early in the season would be worrying.Swansea are going to be tough and up for this match.Realistically a mid table finish would be their goal, they certainly don't want to flirt with the danger zone and they are in that group of teams that on paper could be looking at a difficult season.
