Manchester United got their 2017 / 2018 Premier League season underway with an emphatic win over West Ham United.

With Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku making their Premier League debuts for Manchester United, both were to go on to have good games, with the latter getting his first Premier League goals for the club.

West Ham frustrated Manchester United for the first thirty-three minutes, but Obiang made an error losing possession in midfield and Manchester United launched a lightning quick counter-attack which ended in Rashford providing an excellent ball for Lukaku to smash home off the inside of the post.

With the half-time break arriving with no further additions to the score, Manchester United didn`t take long to double their lead in the second half when, from a set-piece, taken in the fifty-second minute, Lukaku was on hand to head the ball home.

The Hammers tried to get back into the game but were finished off in the final few minutes. In the eighty-seventh minute, Martial, on as a substitute, scored with a smart finish.

But Manchester United weren`t finished and added a fourth in the ninetieth minute when Pogba drilled a low shot past Hart from the edge of the area.

Next stop is a trip to the Liberty Stadium next weekend.
