Real Madrid Abandon de Gea Chase (For Now)

Real Madrid Abandon de Gea Chase (For Now)

Real Madrid`s annual summer pursuit of David de Gea, something that started back in 2015, appears to have ended early this summer.

Although Real Madrid came so close to signing the goalkeeper two summers ago, with the move collapsing right on the deadline due to fax problems, it was expected that the Bernabeu based club would vigorously pursue the Spaniard this summer.

However, according to the Express, that won`t be the case.

But, before we all rest on our laurels perhaps thinking that de Gea will remain at Old Trafford for the remainder of his career, our referenced source has a twist to this particular tale.

It seems that Real Madrid are simply playing a waiting game, waiting until the summer of 2018.

The reason being that the Spanish club are aware that Manchester United have a serious interest in acquiring the services of the Welshman, Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid view this interest as viable enough to consider selling Bale, to Manchester United, next summer, but including David de Gea as part of the deal, with the goalkeeper moving in the opposite direction.

If our referenced source has gauged things correctly how does the proposed deal sit with you all?
