'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Foster Will Return

Ben Foster is set to be part of United's first-team squad for the 2007/08 season. Fergie confirmed we would bring the young keeper back from Watford where he spent the last two seasons on loan.

Foster is enjoying his time at Vicarage Road where he is a regular. He got promoted with Watford and though they seem to go straight back down, Foster did not regret his decision to join the Hornets on loan.

Ferguson reckons the player gained valuable experience during his time at Watford and the now England goalkeeper is ready to be a part of United's squad.

'Without question, Ben will come back here,' Ferguson said. 'We know Ben has a good future in the game.

'All we have done in terms of the goalkeeping situation is identify really good talent and secure their future.

'He is doing well at Watford and, at his age, has everything in front of him, because I believe him to be England's best young goalkeeper.'

The Scot paid tribute to Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd who is doing everything to ensure Foster fulfils his massive potential.

I get a fantastic monthly report from Aidy Boothroyd, which contains all the detail about how he trains, how he is as a professional and how he is developing.'

'It is first-class professionalism from Aidy Boothroyd to take the time to go through all the games he plays in that month.'

Foster's loyalties will be divided tonight as he can watch from the stands his parent club facing his current team. He could not choose in August when the teams faced each other at Vicarage Road and I believe he'll be a neutral again.

He's had a good couple of seasons but i don't think he's nearly ready to be the United number 1.

And he said that sitting on the bench would be a massive blow for him after two seasons of first-team football. Would not like to lose him. Another loan move?
