Rio Wants Clean Sheets

Rio Wants Clean Sheets

Manchester United have not kept a clean sheet since Christmas and the regular defensive lapses keep worrying Rio Ferdinand, one of the pillars of the backline.

Rio was disappointed that United had conceded a goal in the dying minutes against Portsmouth but stressed that results are the most important.

'We pride ourselves on clean sheets and we've not had one for a while,' said the England centre-back.

'I thought we were heading for one against Portsmouth. It was disappointing to concede a scruffy one but the result is always the most important thing,'

Gary Neville stated that the defense cannot expect the strikers to score two or three goals every game. Well guys, it's up to you I believe.

I must admit that defensive problems do not worry me in the slightest when I see that our attacking play is stylish, skillful and imaginative. And that's certainly the case this season.
