De Gea Will Play for United Again

Conspicuous by his absence down on the south coast last night, as Manchester United went head-to-head with Southampton, Jose Mourinho has assured the United support that David de Gea will play for the club again.

Speaking about the 26-year-old Spaniards absence at Southampton, Mourinho explained the keeper was injured.

With Mourinho having already stated that Romero will be between the posts when Manchester United take on Ajax in the Europa League Final, in Stockholm, and with the boss having already stated that he will use the last game of the season, against Crystal Palace, to give United`s third-choice keeper, Joel Pereira, a Premier League debut, supporters could be thinking that De Gea won`t be seen again in a Manchester United shirt.

However, whilst we`re all consumed with the speculation linking de Gea with a move to Real Madrid this summer, Mourinho poured cold-water on the speculation by remarking about his Spanish keeper,

'He'll play the first match against LA Galaxy in pre-season in Los Angeles.

'I hope to play Sergio in the final and hopefully we don't have problems with the keepers. David is top of the world and obviously, we want to keep the top in the world.'


Let`s hope that is the case but I still wouldn`t be surprised if de Gea ended up at the Bernabeu before the summer transfer window closes.

I thought Jose throwing in the towel on your EPL season Top-4 chase was very poor indeed .... i recall that in one season at Chelsea in his 1st term, he sort of did the same on our (Clelsea) trying for the title (eased up 3-4 matches before the end), and turns out ManU dropped some unexpected points which might have made a difference had we got all ours. So though i hold him in high esteem for whet he achieved at Chelsea, i must say that he has made some poor decisions too in his career. If you guys lose the Europa Final it will boomerang big time for Jose.
