United Fined by the Football Association
Following the contentious sending off of Ander Herrera in the disappointing FA Cup quarter-final defeat at the hands of Chelsea, Manchester United were charged, by the Football Association, with failing to control their players.
The charge came about after several of the side surrounded the referee, Michael Oliver, voicing their disapproval at what looked like a soft decision by the official.
However, such protests were outlawed at the start of the season with the ruling being that only the captain is allowed to engage in such conversations.
As a result Manchester United have been fined £20,000 by the Football Association for this misdemeanour with a short statement from the Football Association stating that Manchester United had,
"Accepted the standard penalty."
Time to move on and put the episode behind us methinks.
