'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fergie Rooting For Son

Darren Ferguson has recently been appointed as player-manager at League Two outfit Peterborough United. His famous father now offered his opinion about the boy's chances to make it to the top in management...

Darren Ferguson has other United connections apart from his dad as he came through the youth ranks at the club and played in the first team in the early '90s.

However, to be completely honest, he was not up to this job so he went on to play in the lower leagues. His last club was Wrexham but not a long time ago he accepted Peterborough's offer to become player-manager. He's just got his qualifications but said to be eager to go ahead and have some success in management.

His father believes Darren deserves success because of the amount of work he's invested into his career.

'To make it to the top in this job, you need a lot of preparation, learning and hard work,' Fergie said.

'Darren was working hard to get his business course degree and his coach badge. He put a lot of work into it but he's still only 34 and just starting his career. I believe he has all the attributes to be successful and of course I hope he'll do well.'

Let's hope he inherited some attributes from his father.
