Heinze Not For Sale

Several sources reported Gabriel Heinze's contract is set to expire at the end of the season. This is not true, states Sir Alex Ferguson.

It wouldn't be surprising if Heinze suffered from the symptoms of overdose of speculation. His name popped up here and there, linking him with a move to Milan, PSG, Juventus and most recently Spurs despite his repeated statements that he did not want to leave.

Now his boss confirmed that Heinze would not be sold and his contract will not expire in the summer.

'One paper said his contract finishes in June. That's wrong, it ends in 2009,' stated Ferguson.

'When I read that I immediately went diving for my file. I was sure that wasn't right. We don't allow these things to happen.'

'We're hitting a brick wall [with bringing players in],' Fergie added. 'I make the point every year, not a lot happens in January. It's usually very quiet.

I was surprised to read Heinze's contract will expire but shamefully, I believed it. Sorry guys, I should have known Fergie pays extreme attention to these details. As for hitting a brick wall, it's more than noticeable. I'm starting to give up on both Hargreaves and Bale. The pursuit of the latter gave me some headaches as I'd love to see him at the club but I'd hate to see Heinze go. But we can't collect every player we like, can we?
