Chelsea To Take Hargreaves?
I was a bit shocked to read today that Owen Hargreaves could end up at Chelsea. Surely not?
Bayern Munich are believed to be after Arjen Robben and coach Felix Magath confirmed his interest in the player. Yet the rumours about Hargreaves being offered to Chelsea in exhange seem far-fetched.
Well, what I read was Uli Hoeness is upset about United's way of courting Hargreaves in the media (we knew that, of course) and he would prepare a cunning plan to anger Fergie by selling the England midfielder to our greatest rivals and to secure Arjen Robben who would be a great addition to their pretty mediocre squad.
To be honest, I wouldn't put it past Uli Hoeness and we all know Chelsea love to buy players they don't need just to keep them away from their rivals. Robben is one of the finest representatives of that tradition but a mention should go to SWP or Michael Ballack.
But Owen Hargreaves? He'd be the sixth central midfielder at the Blues... that transfer would mean Mourinho, Abramovic, Kenyon and Arnesen have lost their minds simultaneously. That's another thing I wouldn't rule out, mind you.

I'll be damned if i see hargeaves at chelsea , there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED, but a swoop between greaves and phillips wouldn't be so bad , i really don't think chelsea will let robb go.

Robben was instramental in Chelsea's first title and Ballack must have played neigh on every game. Hardly proof that'Chelsea love to buy players they don't need just to keep them away from their rivals'! SWP has been found wanting. Chelsea will get the blame, and were duped into overpating, but just isn't up to the standards of Robben, Cole, Duff and Ronaldo on the wing. If he can't get into the side with Robben and Cole injured and Duff gone then he can't be good enough. Hargreaves won't come to Chelsea. It's Bayern trying to get more money out of United.

I'd love to see Hargreaves go to Chelsea because it would just further compound their stupidity. When buy ANOTHER central midfielder when what they need are some defenders. Tools, the lot of em!

When will it end? It never started y'prat. It's all over the news that Mourinho's complaining that he's not being allowed to buy anyone, yet the first sniff of a hint of a rumour and you believe it like the dopey mug you are. The red tops love retards like you. Any half-arsed story and you swallow it hook line and sinker. Ever thought it's the usual trick of a selling club like Bayern currently are rumouring the interest of the big bad bear and trying to bump the price up when really there's no-one competing for his signature at all? How gullible can you get.

I would have put it more politely but you're right Squiddy. Though I don't think they could bump up Hargreaves' price even further, 18m is already crazy for him, not to mention 20m.

i think if we pay 18 million for carrick then 18 million for hargreaves is a better deal

crazy stuff as you say...but sadly, in chelski world you could actually see this happening...sort of a collectors paradise...at times not really sure what they are collecting..but they do all the same.....a big mistake for hargreaves if he did do this I feel.....

The only benefactor of such a deal would be Bayern but they denied these rumours now.
