Scholes Hails Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the Barclays Player of the Month award for December but Paul Scholes says he's not just best of the Premiership right now but the best of the world.

Of course, Ginger Ninja fails to mention that Ronaldo's scintillating performances owe much to his red-haired team-mate's impressive displays. Still, I can hardly argue with the points he raised about the Portuguese winger.

'The amount of goals and the amount of assists he's had has been frightening,' Scholes told Football Focus.

'I haven't seen anybody take players on, score goals and make goals like he has in this first half of the season, so he rightfully deserves that tag (of being the best in the world).'

'We just hope that for the second half of the season he can have the same effect on the team that he's had in the first half. We're sure he can do that.'

Whilst Scholesy would be delighted if Ronaldo kept up the level of his performances he reckons his own showings could still improve.

'I still think I can play better and I still think the team can play better so for the second half of the season we hope we can do that.

'I know over the years I've played better than I am doing now. I want to get back to those sorts of levels and hopefully I can do that.'

ronaldo is definately playing the best at the moment so he probally is the best player in the world. scholes deserves crdit too he has been brilliant
