Our generous Scottish manager would not be happy to see the back of one of his most outspoken and amusing colleagues who happen to be his greatest rival.
Speculations are rife in the press about Moaninho as he's so often called now is set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, following complaints about the club's refusal to pay for the targets whom he identified as necessary to strengthen the squad that's greatest asset was supposed to be its depth.
However, Sir Alex would not be happy if the Special One finally said goodbye to England.
'I would be disappointed in that. I have enjoyed his company in the times we meet after the game and things like that.
'He has a good personality. I enjoy the competition against him.
'Why would Jose be telling anyone his plans? I certainly would not be telling anyone my plans. All of a sudden people seem to know what his plans are. I take that with a pinch of salt. The important thing is to make sure I am still manager of our club come May.'
I'd be disappointed, too. I love Jose's comments (moanings), especially the I'm-not-as-lucky as-Glenn Roeder-as-I-do-not-have-Edgar-or Huntington-in-the-reserves types. Oh my god. How fortunate must Roeder feel himself, his choices are not limited to a bunch of no-hopers as Essien, Drogba or Robben. Was it Roeder who bid for a certain Robert Huth in the summer? The German was released by a club where he was believed to be surplus to requirements...
Of course, we might still enjoy some immortal comments from Benitez ('after conceding the first four goals it was very difficult') but the Premiership just would not be the same without the amusing Jose.
