Spurs To Bid For Brown

Spurs To Bid For Brown

Wes Brown could be on his way in January as he's high on the list of the central defenders Spurs manager Martin Jol would like to add to his squad.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of centre-backs in the winter, including Rio's brother Anton Ferdinand and Wes Brown is believed to be one of their main targets, with a fee around £5million cited.

Brown himself has already stated he would stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place but of course such a declaration would never stop the papers from creating and publishing these rumours. In this case, it's possible that Spurs are really ready to launch a bid for him but I'd be very surprised if he left United now.

not unless we can stitch his right boot to his left leg so he can cover left back aswell!

He's not THAT useless... though I don't like to see him in central defence. Good cover for right-back, especially if Juve take Chimbonda. But we won't let him go.

you think Chimbonda will leave uus to play in serie B and wait at kleast 2 years to play in Europe again?/? I can't see that! I'd take Brown, he'd only be a sub anyway, could cover Right and center back and he's not a bad player! But I think £5m is too much for him, he's not as good as Chimbonda and he's not even £5m

I don't think Juve would take Chimbonda but it's a possibility.

Wouldn't like to see Heinze go... of course doesn't have much of a chance if we sign Bale. But Evra's strongest asset is attacking and Bale is similar so we need a tough tackling left-back, too. But I'd be happy to part with Silvestre any time :-)
