Barca After Ronaldo

Barcelona are reportedly after Cristiano Ronaldo to strengthen their already formidable attacking section. The Catalans, according to the rumours, would offer Xavi plus cash for the Portuguese winger.

Now the rumours must be absolutely groundless otherwise I have to conclude that Spain's greatest clubs are simply losing the plot in the transfer market. Last week it were Real Madrid who offered £25million for Ronaldo and now it seems Barcelona are after him.

What I don't really understand is that Ronaldo declared during the summer he would like to leave United for Spain. According to his agent, he was even offered to Barcelona but they rejected him. Did they realize that he's a wonderful player? But Spanish (and Catalan) guys, get a grip, you can't seriously think we would let go of him now? They had a much better chance of landing him in the summer.

So, if Barcelona would really want to add Ronaldo to their attacking section already including Ronaldinho, Messi and Eto'o (not to mention Eidur Gudjohnsen), they would have acted in the summer. At least, I believe they have some common sense and I prefer to think these rumours have been created out of nothing.

how crazy is this story plus i think man utd would rather let him go for free in 2010 i think it is then to let him go any sooner

You guys are not afraid Ronaldo might be tempted to move to Spain sooner or later? Certainly not now but in the near future?

That is slightly odd after they turned him down pre-season. Wouldn't expect Ronaldo to be too tempted though, not at this moment in time.
