'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Larsson Deal For A Massive Price

Henrik Larsson initially signed a three-month loan deal with United but after he scored on his debut against Aston Villa, speculation mounted about whether he would be offered an extension.

Larsson's club, Helsingborgs confirmed they would be willing to let the player stay at Old Trafford but it would cost the Reds some money.

Their chairman Sten-Inge Fredin said: 'The exact sum a deal like this will cost United depends on a lot of circumstances. For example, we would have to decide if we need to replace him in our own team.

'It is, first and foremost, up to Henrik if he will stay in Manchester. If he wants that, then we are certainly up for discussions with United.'

The Swedish league will start in April so an extension to Larsson's deal would mean that he won't be available for the first two months of the campaing. If reports are to be believed, that could cost United around £1.2million, with Larsson earning a massive wage.

Of course, after watching delightedly his outstanding debut display, I would say sign that extension as soon as possible. But there a number of things that have to be taken into consideration so I accept the club won't be in a hurry to secure the great Swede. But I think there's only one outcome to this story, and that is Larsson signing for the mighty Reds until May.

Keep him, the blokes a legend, Sheringhams still going strong so theres no reason why Henrik cant continue.

I wouldn't expect money to be an issue for you and on that basis it would be good for you to extend his loan spell.
