Kanchelskis Still Playing

Who knows what club Andrei Kanchelskis has been playing for last season? OK, I'll give you a hint: it was Krylya Sovetov Samara. Now he's left them, for the manager wants to introduce young talent to the club.

All right, it's hardly breathtaking news but it's always nice to hear about an ex-Red, even though his his relationship with Fergie soured rapidly in the last phase of his Old Trafford career and he left United for Everton without warm wishes.

It seems his love for the game is undiminished, though, and he aims to get on with his playing career despite leaving his last club.

'I spoke to Oborin (Krylya manager) and he told me he wants a younger squad,' explained Kanchelskis to Sport-Express.

'I have enough desire and energy to continue my career. I played 22 games for Krylya Sovetov last year. I feel no tiredness and I think I did well.

'I was not sure that Krylya would offer me a new contract so I asked my agent to look for a new club.

'I have some offers already, although I would not like to name the clubs. Anyway, I am sure I will find a new team very soon. I have no doubts.

'I have a couple of offers from abroad but, to be honest, I would prefer to play for a Russian club.'

Good luck, Andrei, we'll never forget your hat-trick against Manchester City in 1995 and we'll remember all the other memorable exhibitions of wing play from you.

What a player, i remember him destroying blackburn single handedly years back when blackburn were our title rivals, i wonder if he'd consider playing for fc utd, or him, ince, pallister, parker, sharpe for utd's master football squad.
Kanchelskis
Good to know he's still playing and enthusiastic about football. Don't remember much of him from United but certainly at Everton he was a cracking player.
