Manchester United Rumours

The transfer window has been opened on January 1 so let's have a look at the most interesting rumours about Manchester United.

First and foremost three done deals are already there: Jonny Evans goes to Sunderland on loan, David Jones has completed his move to Derby County and Reserves captain Danny Rose has been loaned out to Oxford on a temporary basis.

Now the real rumours. The Sun believes we've tabled a £15 million offer for Owen Hargreaves. They reckon Bayern are likely to accept this fee for the midfielder whose injury is believed to be healed and he can back on the pitch soon.

Some sources claim United lead the race for exciting Southampton defender Gareth Bale, valued at £7m. The teenager fullback attracted interest from Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Liverpool but United are favourites to sign him. Soton want to hold on to him, preparing a contract offer for their greatest asset.

I don't really see why we should buy him as United have a plethora of young defensive talents but of course a good young player is always welcome.

Franck Ribéry is always likely to figure in a column about transfer rumours and the Marseille player is a wanted man: Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester United are all linked with him, despite his insistence he will stay in France at least until the summer.

Of course, a transfer window is not just about buying players. Wes Brown, for instance is one who is thought to be heading to Newcastle, in exchange for £3m. He's worht more than that and as I had said in a previous article, I think we should not let him go in January as we lack cover for the right-back position.

Phil Bardsley could join Sunderland on loan but Roy Keane revealed he fears he might miss out on the youngster who wanted to talk to some Premiership clubs before giving an answer to Roy. Bardsley has not contacted the Black Cats since that so Roy's concerns seem to profound.

Oh, and the always ambitious Real Madrid launched a bid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for a ridiculous 40m euros. Hey, get a grip, guys.

Highly unlikely rumours are always likely to pop up: Barcelona midfielder Deco has been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and most recently Arsenal after he said he did not know if he would fulfill his contract at the Catalans.

And would you be happy to see Deco signing for Arsenal?
midlothian99
i dont think he would go to chelsea and when arsenal dont have champions league football i dont think he would go to them
rooneyisgod
But Arsenal do have Champions League football and I very much doubt if they would finish below fourth place this season. What made you say Arsenal don't have CL football?
