'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fergie Unleash Scandinavian Force

Manchester United will play Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday at Old Trafford. The event is made more interesting than it really is by the fact that Henrik Larsson is set to make his debut for the Reds.

To be honest, I'd prefer we play the league game against Villa first. The Cup is something I do not have time to dwell on as my mind is firmly fixed on the League what we have a genuine chance to win after three years of frustration.

Still, the old trophy is a prestigious one and United won it more times than any other team so it cannot be regarded as a frustrating League Cup encounter. Sir Alex adores this competition but that does not prevent him resting some of his stars.

Louis Saha is out for two weeks with a groin injury and Wayne Rooney will get a rest so Solskjaer will partner loan striker Henrik Larsson in attack.

'Henrik Larsson is free to play for us now and he'll start on Sunday,' Fergie declared. 'I didn't take Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Newcastle simply because he'd started two games in four days and I probably wouldn't have used him.

'So it was better for him to rest and get himself ready for Sunday's match against Aston Villa, when he and Henrik will give us two greatly experienced strikers.

'Saha has a groin injury and he may be out for two weeks, but hopefully not.'

Interesting striker selection. I would think it more beneficial to only play one of the older strikers but who knows.

Rossi played in the League Cup for Newcastle so he should be cup-tied. Or am I wrong?
