Fergie's Got The Money

Fergie's Got The Money

Sir Alex Ferguson has denied rumours about a spending cap for the club. Since the Glazers' takeover, such speculation is always rife but the owners and the manager insist we could buy anyone who we really want.

'It is nonsense,' Fergie said. 'There is no figure from the Glazer family. We are operating the same way as we always have done.

'If we are after a player we present the case to David Gill and the Glazers as I would have done in the past with Martin Edwards or the PLC board. The process is exactly the same as it always has been.'

The Glazers themselves also tried to reassure the fans ahead of the transfer window.

'Manchester United is the richest club in the world,' a Glazer family spokesman told PA.

'If the manager feels that the right player is available, then Manchester United will always seek to secure him.'

I am sure that within reason he will get who he wants...especially as failure to do so may cost your current position and perhaps the title...
