Bayern Ready To Sell Hargreaves

Bayern Munich have declared they could sell Owen Hargreaves to Manchester United if they got the right price for him.

The Canadian-born England midfielder has been a subject of speculation ever since he expressed a desire to move to Manchester United from the current German champions. His request was turned down by the club and his pleas did not soften Bayern's resistance, until now. It's possible that Uli Hoeness was drunk, or just had a generous moment but that fact is the Bayern general manager admitted, for the first time, that a deal could be done over Hargreaves.

'If ever we found a replacement for Owen, who cost less than we'd get for him, we might be prepared to think about it,' said Hoeness in The Sun.

'We face Real Madrid in the Champions League so we're not about to weaken our team,' he added. 'We're not a bank, we're a football club. 'Our priority is to strengthen the team and we need Hargreaves for that.'

Basically, that means they would be ready to cash in on Owen - but only in the summer. Better than nothing I suppose but we still need a proper midfielder to aid our hunt for a trophy.

hes the one player we need i think to to win this title and lts hope its jauary we get him

We need him but I don't think we'll win the title. We should win the FA Cup and aim for a semi-final in the CL. Hargreaves is needed to keep second place.

So another six months to wait. Thanks Uli!

Why are you people so pessimistic? Chelsea are scum, they're not gonna win this year.

i have faith in man utd too we have been better then them this season and we played better in our game so i think we can do it
rooneyisgod
Our game with Chelsea was pretty evenly matched. I think we can do it, I just fear we won't :-(

Doesnt the fact that they are now willing to sell him point to the fact that he's gone off the boil at little? A lets face it he was only ever tepid at best.
