Rooney Calls For Killer Instinct

Just like his boss, Wayne wants the team to take their chances. Unlike his boss, he can do a lot for it.

Wayne Rooney missed a golden opportunity to give a two-goal lead for United at the Riverside on the Saturday and after the nervy 2-1 victory, he admitted the Reds need to find their killer instincts.

"It`s probably the toughest away game we`ve played this season so we`re really happy with the three points," Rooney told MUTV.

"We`re creating a lot of chances, but we have to stick them away and try to kill games off earlier. We`ve done that in a few games this season, but we need to be doing it in most.

"The first half we played some brilliant football, but they came at us in the second half. It was tough and we had to hang in there.

"Once they got it to 1-1 I thought we did really well to come back. After they scored they would have been happy to sit back, so it was really important that we got another goal quickly.'
