'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fergie Raving About Larsson

Let's hope Fergie pulled a masterstroke by signing Henrik Larsson. The new Teddy Sheringham?

Undoubtedly, Friday's most suprising news was the Swedish ex-Celtic legend's deal with United. Larsson has finished football at the top level in May but it seems he's not fully satisfied with playing for Helsingborgs. Sir Alex is sure he will make an impact at United.

'It's a real boost,' declared the United boss. 'Henrik has great pedigree and character. He also has goalscoring ability. We're very pleased. He can play anywhere along the front line, he`s an intelligent player and he can score goals.'

"It`s a good bit of business for us. He can change games and showed that against Arsenal in the Champions League final. I think he won that game for Barcelona and change things around for them."

Veteran striker scoring a goal and providing an assist to turn around a Champions League final? God, I had heard it before... but who it was? Of course! Teddy Sheringham!

OK, I know he'll never have such an influence at the club what Teddy had, coming only on loan for three months. But considering Sheringham won Player of the Year award at the age of 35, Larsson is more than capable of being successful in the Premiership. Good cover for Wayne and King Louis.

Now I come to think of it, I'd like to see an Ole-Larsson partnership, at least for 20 minutes!
