I'm Getting Tired Of The Rumours

Really, if it would be 31st of August! But it's not and I'm already sick of all the transfer rumours and it's still only november!

I hate this time of the season: you know you would not learn any concrete about transfers - pre-contract agreements are pretty rare. These are just rumours and you have to wait months before any of them could prove to be true.

Still, Vital United is trying to keep up with all the latest speculation about our possible transfer targets.

Some of them are really wild, like the one about Smith and Bayern. I'm ready to eat my hat if Smudger leaves for Munich in January. United are certainly willing to let him go somewhere on loan but he had snubbed the chance to play for Cardiff and Leeds and isn't thought to be keen for playing neither Aston Villa nor Everton. The Bavarians have some problems up front but they have four strikers even if they are out of form. More than that, accepting Smith on loan is something Bayern would avoid for the same reason that they don't want to let Hargreaves go: they would look a minor club to whom some out-of-form player is farmed out to regain his touch.

Anyway, loaning Smith would mean United almost certainly need to purchase a striker, and there are a number of players linked with the reds. First of all, Charlton's Darren Bent is thought to be the target of a £10 million move. Nani's there again, this time United are believed to be willing to play £5 million for the Sporting youngster.

Then other sources claim the Reds could be locked in another transfer battle with Chelsea and once again they would face the prospect of doing business with John Shittu, agent of Nigerian disgrace John Obi Mikel. The 20-year-old Chinudu Ogbuke is another highly-talented Nigerian youngster at Lyn Oslo and the Premierships two heavyweights are expected to laucnh a bid for him in January.
