'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Will Patience Hold For Wigan Trip?

Patience among the fans is at breaking point judging by their negative reaction to Sunday's encounter with Everton, where United could do no better than a 1-1 draw despite having 21 shots at goal.

Which is why, much as Ferguson admires Wigan and their chairman and old friend Dave Whelan, the Latics' first competitive trip to Old Trafford must be a losing one.

How far have come when we talk of beating WIGAN at OLD TRAFFORD as a must?

Ferguson: 'Wigan are having a fairytale season but we want to win this match, no question about it.

'We got anxious at the weekend in our urgency to try to score the winning goal, ended up playing far too many long balls forward.

'That style of play does not suit Manchester United. We must continue to play football and enjoy the game. If we do that, eventually things will come right for us.'
