'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Evra Grateful

United's French left-back, Patrice Evra played the full second half against Greece in the French national team.

The former Monaco defender has shown impressive form so far in this season and now Raymond Domenech has rewarded him with a call-up - and for the first time in two years, Evra was presented with the opportunity to play in a French shirt. The former Monaco defender thanked his current club for all the help and assistence he's been given here.

'I need to thank everybody at United for what they have done for me,' he said. 'When I first came here, I was asked to do my best.

'My first six months here were very difficult but the staff told me it was no problem and not to worry because people need time to improve. It is good being picked for the national team but my first priority is to Manchester United.'
