October Awards Go To Old Trafford

Manchester United won 4 league game out of 4 in October, scoring 11 goals in the process. No wonder Barclays' monthly awards ended up at Old Trafford this time.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been named Manager of the Month for the second time this season, the first award came in August when Ryan Giggs' scooped the player award for the first time during his career. Now that acknowledgement went to Paul Scholes, who scored the opening goal in United's 2-0 win over arch-rivals Liverpool.

Jim Hytner of the Barclays Awards Panel praised Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Manchester United continue to set the pace this season and Sir Alex has proven he is very much at the top of his game in his twentieth year in charge at the club."
