Captain Rooney Speaks

With the Premier League currently on hold I guess we should throw a cursory casual glance towards the plight of England.

I say plight because, in my opinion, they looked a poor side in beating Norway 1-0 and if they are to mount any serious challenge at the European Championships then they`ll need to progress fast.

But winning is, some times, the be-all and end-all and a good platform to move on from on.

Wayne Rooney, still adjusting to life as the permanent England captain, has reflected on the Norway game whilst also looking forward to the more important European qualifier against Switzerland, with the Manchester United player remarking,

"It was important to get the win but now we have to move on from here."

"We know we have to be better against the Swiss if we are going to get a victory there."

"We will work hard now and be ready."

Let`s hops so, football in this country can only benefit from a successful national team.
