A Short Term Solution?

A Short Term Solution?

Flicking through various news headlines, on the internet search engines, one caught my eye.

It carries the inference that Louis van Gaal may turn to a veteran defender as a short term solution for defensive cover.

It seems that Manchester United are considering signing 36 year old Ricardo Carvalho, the former Chelsea defender who has played for Real Madrid but who is currently on the books of AS Monaco.

It is understood that Carvalho is willing to play a bit-part role, providing central defensive cover, in exchange for being allowed time to do his coaching badges whilst at Carrington as the elegant Portuguese defender chases a new career in coaching.

An interesting proposition methinks and it`ll be interesting to see how the talks go.

He's past it, it's not going to happen. We won't be looking to add any more defensive acquisitions before the end of the window I imagine.
