United in Hunt for another Centre Back!

United in Hunt for another Centre Back!

Although Manchester United have signed a defender, in the form of Marcos Rojo, speculation is still linking Louis van Gaal with the purchase of another centre-back.

The player in question is the AS Roma centre-back Mehdi Benatia

Valued at close to £30 million, the 27 year-old has several suitors but one, a rather famous one, has seen their hopes dashed.

Reports suggest that club scrapped a meeting with officials from Bayern Munich, which, if the papers are correct, leaves Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United as possible destinations for the player.

Once again we`ll endeavour to keep abreast of the situation!

Top quality centre back and one that we can ill afford to let slip through our fingers, so pay the cash and get him signed.

He's world class and if he's available it would be foolish to pass up on him. Personally don't see it happening though. We've got Keane, Blackett, Rojo, Smalling, Jones and Evans as our defensive unit and I imagine the defensive performances will be infinitely improved when Evans is the middle CB (Smalling isn't vocal enough nor reads the game well enough to play the role) of the 3 and Rojo is the left sided CB in the 3 (Blackett hasn't really put a foot wrong yet but he needs experience and to be slowly integrated).

"We've got Keane, Blackett, Rojo, Smalling, Jones and Evans as our defensive unit" Now that is worrying.
