A Buzz About the Place!

A Buzz About the Place!

This time last year was a strange time.

With Sir Alex Ferguson having retired and vacated the managerial chair, David Moyes had stepped into the hot-seat and was preparing to lead us into the new season.

Sadly, his tenure wasn`t a success and Manchester united had the worst season any defending Premier League champions had ever had.

The departure of Moyes opened the door for Ryan Giggs to have his first taste of managerial experience, however, despite the clamour to give the job to Giggs on a permanent basis, the element of sentimentality was rightly ignored and the board went for the far more experienced option of appointing Louis van Gaal, with Giggs securing the role as the Dutchman`s assistant.

Now, once again with a new season beckoning we`re eager to see how it`ll pan out, although we doubt it can match the awfulness of last season, something that`s not possible I`d hope.

One player waiting to show that this season will be different is Darren Fletcher with the fit-again Scottish midfielder remarking to the media ahead of the 2014 / 2015 season,

"We`ve got some new signings and a real buzz about the place again. I think everyone`s looking forward with great anticipation."

"It`s another season and an exciting one with a new manager coming in."

"We really want to push on from the disappointments of last season."

"I know all the players are thoroughly excited to get out there and get the team back where they belong."

Let`s hope that is something that happens although the fact we`ve not yet seriously strengthened our squad, apart form the acquisitions of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera does still trouble me!

Not to concerned about the transfer market at the moment, things typically explode in the last couple of weeks. Considering the comments coming out from Van Gaal and Woodward I'd be shocked if we didn't sign at the very least a centreback going into the new season. I also imagine a pair of wingers will be coming in over the coming windows also.

To be honest the last couple of seasons have left me very pessimistic about any transfer dealings we are supposedly in for. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if we signed no one of any real merit, just squad fillers as usual, I'd be really annoyed but not shocked. We need 2 centrebacks but we can't seem to sign one, we need a winger/wingback maybe 2, a centre mid, and another striker if Hernandez leaves. I'm sure we'll be ok Woodwards on the case and I hear he still has Moyes' list so expect to see Osman and Jagielka at Old Trafford this week.

I honestly dont share you optimism Famous, it is clear that we wont sign anymore this window, and we will start the season with a far from optimal squad. We need a midfielder, a winger and maybe 2 CB's. Again we have failed big time in this transfer window, and have again failed to adress the obvious failings in our team. LVG brings class and wisdom, but you cant turn water into wine, and currently we are not strong enough to win the league, and god help us if we get anymore injuries. I am afraid that the incompetent Woodward has showed that he barks alot, but has no bite. I must say I am shocked as we again go into another season having failed to upgrade our squad, bloody poor management, someone needs to cut Woodward loose, and get someone in that knows how to do business.

Woodward would benefit from learning to keep his mouth shut! It's no coincidence that every player we've supposedly inquired about value suddenly hits silly money. It's him doing interviews and going on about how much we can spend. Frankly the man's an embarrassment we never had this crap with Gill he just sat behind the scenes getting deals done. Woodward needs to stop with the lip service and get on with his bloody job or he can fu(k off. I don't give a 5hit how many sponsorship deals he's got us its world class players we need.

On a lighter note is Fellani ill? Or am I imagining things? I could have sworn he scored a goal?

Maybe its because I've got my tinfoil hat on but could it be that the Glazers have the right man in charge in Woodward when it comes to them leeching cash out of the club all the time, I mean they wouldn't want to spend 200 million on players when the fans will still pay to see whatever team is put out buy the shirts and all the crap, maybe all of Woodwards mouthing off is a smokescreen, just act like you are doing something, I mean come on offering 20 million for Hummels, of course Dortmund will tell you to ***** off.

This Summer the club cannot afford to not reinforce and it's due to that reason solely that I believe we will make some signings in the coming weeks & windows. Missing out on the Champions League is hitting the Glazers where it hurts and the outlay, even if it's 100-200 million, will make and save them so much more in the long run.
